Does hair matter in a job interview?

OR IF I HAD LONG HAIR?

Does hair matter in a job interview?

Your overall appearance matters, especially since you're trying to get your foot in whatever company you're applying to.

This doesn't necessarily mean that once you get in you change your entire look, but try to keep it according to the "company standards."

If this job is important to you, then you'll adjust accordingly, and please don't approach it with the notion of "they should know what they're getting up front"....because they'll get back with you with the "you don't belong here...." kind of approach.

Also, what is in your resume including your knowledge, skills and abilities is what is going to help you get the job as well.

Again, this will help them realize that they cannot judge your book by the cover...

Good Luck...

Did you have nothing to ask and just made this one up.

Of course you whole appearance matters - do a reverse roll here if you were interviewing someone for say a front desk jod to your business What sort of impression would you like to make?

Does hair matter in a job interview?

I have done many interviews and as far as hair goes the important thing is to show the effort put into looking proper for the interview. I say proper because every job has its own standards and what would be right for one job will get you ignored at another. Most interviewers want to see that an effort was put into your preparation for the interview. After that the hair style won't matter as long as it is not offensive to the company values.

as long as it is combed or styled and not in the eyes, it shouldn't matter. of course, some people will let it matter.
