I have long layered mocha brown hair and need ideas on how to style my hair for a formal dinner danc

I have a baby pink princess style dress and want something princess style. My mom wants me to do it down and straigt but I don't think it would look that pretty for the princess look I am searching for. I Also should I wear a tiara? My mom thinks it's a stupid idea. What do you think?
